Detailed description

Start your 2-day program with the magnificent summer residence of the Russian Royal Family, Catherine's Palace, situated on the outskirts of the city in Tsarskoe Selo (Pushkin). Hundreds of pounds of gold used in its sumptuous décor and the world-famous Amber room, often called the eighth wonder of the world make this palace and absolute must-see. Continue into the royal Catherine’s park offering magnificent views of the imposing palace and half dozen cozy pavilions.

After lunch at a local restaurant continue to Pavlovsk palace and park. Only a short distance away from Catherine’s palace, Pavlovsk is very different in character and ambience. Exquisite classical décor supported by homey touches will make you feel the comfort of a cozy truly lived space.

On the second day drive through the historical center of the city. During several picture stops you will see some of most known architectural ensembles and historical landmarks of St. Petersburg. You will explore the premises of Peter-and-Paul fortress, the birthplace of the city, and marvel at the stunning elegance of the interior décor of the cathedral, the burial place of the Russian tsars.

After lunch in a local restaurant plunge into the world of fine arts housed in the State Hermitage Museum, by far the largest museum of Russian, ranking with world largest and most known galleries and museums. Not only will you see the masterpieces of fine arts, but also the buildings that house them, some originally meant as museum spaces, some as living quarters, like the Winter Palace, which served as the official residence of the tsars for over 150 years.
